One more thing re bras for racerback tops - get a racerback bra instead. These are really comfy to wear and give great support, unlike the evil strapless bras. 😂 You might even find them in pure cotton. 🌱
Loved this post! 😍 When I’m struggling to decide wether to keep something, I always think of Christina’s mantra: If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no. This has saved me lots of money this year - I’ve returned items I previously would have tried to make work, as I loved the look of them despite the fit being off.
Again, so insightful! Have to put in my veto for the &other stories cashmere shirt though - it suits you so well - and I love the racerback tops on you! I do get the bra argument though. I found a perfect strapless bra on ASOS a few years ago and I wouldn’t wear 80% of my tops without it. xx
So happy to hear you enjoyed part 2! For the cashmere tee, I’m gonna keep trying to make it work! Tuckability is now high up on my checklist for this type of top. And for the racerbacks!! I need to find the perfect strapless bra to open up this area in my wardrobe. A mission for the new year!
Hi Morgan, and so sorry I took a while coming back to you! I generally take size M, and did that for both these pieces. I prefer a looser fit in general, and for my UK10 body, the M generally works best.
Part 2 did not disappoint!! So impressed with the work you put into this. I-too- have to remind myself not to go too hard on trends. And pre loved is so good to me but also burns me because I can’t return. One of my lessons for 2024 is to only buy used when I have experienced the item in real life too.
Oh Kelly this means a lot to me, thank you for your kind words! I think that’s a great lesson, and on a similar note I’d love to dedicate more of my in store shopping to great vintage/pre loved stores.
Loving this series & your insightful reflections! Thanks for taking the time to share all of these with us—and at such reasonable price points. I’m sad about the Zara coat because it’s in my cart! I just love the color. Would you recommend trying if you could have sized up?
Emily I have so enjoyed this series! Thank you so much for putting it together! It’s inspired me to do my own after putting it off, so thank you! X
I’m so so glad you’ve enjoyed this Anna! Cannot wait to read yours ❤️

Will be taking this mantra into the new year Anett, thank you!

Hey Emily, can I ask what size you take in your Uniqlo items? The cardigan & knit trousers? Xx

Absolutely give it a try! I definitely would have reordered in a size up from my usual if I hadn't filled the gap with the pre-loved trench in between
